MONSTER SOFTIES – CRAFT WORKSHOP

Making this your monster softie you will be introduced to embroidery stitches like running stitch, whip stitch and blanket stitch.
You’ll learn the basics of sewing, straight stitch, zig zag stitch and hand stitching and feel the thrill of taking home this bespoke toy. In this class it’s all about how you make it your own so there is lots of room for individuality and creative flare.
Nothing feels better than being able to hold something in your hands at the end of the day, so we’ll aim to have your softie finished within the class time.
Skill level:
Beginner to Intermediate Sewists
What you will learn:
· How to cut your pattern and fabric
· Basic embroidery stitches – running stitch, whip stitch and blanket stitch
· Basic sewing on the machine - straight stitch & zig zag
· Working with felt and embroidery cotton
· How to add arms and legs to the body
· How to stuff a softie
What is included:
· Sewing machines for your use — Bernina 335 or Brother Innovis A80
· Softie pattern & printed instructions to take home
· Body fabric (choice of colour scheme), felt, embroidery thread, embroidery needles and stuffing.
· 6 hours of expert tuition in a small group (3–6 students)

What you need to bring:
· OPTIONAL: Your clean machine (with all cords, pedal and accessories)
· Fabric scissors and sewing kit — available to purchase if needed.
