ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF COUNTRY
I would like to acknowledge the Gadigal people who are the Traditional Custodians of the land in which we live and learn. I would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present of the Eora Nation and extend that respect to other Aboriginal & Indigenous people present at our workshops and events.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME
UsefulBox is a place for everyone to feel welcome, encouraged and loved. You are all very very welcome as sewing is a gift that can unite us all. We are anti-racist and an ally to the BIPOC, LGBTQI and physically disabled communities, along with being an advocate for mental health. We will serve you to be best of our ability and we will stand with you in love and solidarity.
TERMS AND FAQ
Depending on the class, a minimum of 3 people will need to be booked in for the class to go ahead. As classes close 3 days before the set date, you will be contacted early to rearrange or refund your class.
I get it, things happen! We all have lives filled with different things going on - flat tyres, sick kids etc.
If you can’t get to your class, I would really love to be given at least 24 hours notice please. We can then work to reschedule your class. If you are cancelling without rescheduling, within 24 hours, I would be happy to refund you half of your booking fee.
If you don't make it to class without letting me know, you will forfeit the entire class fee.
If you have booked a course, and miss a class, we will try to fit you into another class time. However, if you can't make it, I'm afraid we won't be able to cover that class.
If I need to cancel or reschedule, I will do my best to find another teacher and give you a heads up. However, if I can’t, I will give you more than 24hours notice and we can work on a date change together. If you would prefer not to reschedule and I have canceled, I will be happy to refund you the full class amount.
If you change your mind about classes or dates, if I am able to reschedule you, I will try to do that. It will depend on class and teacher availability.
What to bring to class
If you have a machine, I believe it’s best to bring that to your class so that you will know how to use it once you get home. Please don’t forget the power cord, pedal and all the accessories.
If your class goes over lunch time, you are encouraged to bring your lunch to save time. There is a fridge and microwave available.
All other info on what to bring will be given to you upon booking.
Kids classes have an age minimum of 9years old and maximum of 15years. A 16 year old is welcome at an adult class.
A minimum of 3-4 kids will be needed for the class to go ahead - perfect excuse to bring a friend!
We have a WWC numbers and am willing to provide that if you would like it.
I started sewing at 10 years old so I get what it’s like to sew as a kid. I also know how what it’s like to be a shy kid so please know that I take extra special care of your shy kid.
Refunds and exchanges
If you have purchased from our store, if the product is faulty, I will be happy to refund. If you are changing your mind and the product is unused, I am happy to exchange or give a credit note.
Gift vouchers are sent to you digitally and have a code attached to them which the recipient will need to use when booking. Vouchers have a year long expiry.
Your goodies are packed as soon as possible upon your order being placed. A day at the most!
Our parcels are sent via Sendle. You will be given a tracking number upon shipment of the goods. Across Australia, your parcel should take 2-3days for delivery.
Animals in the studio
Animals will need to be left at home when you come to your sewing lesson. The space is not safe for animals - I would hate for your pet to tread on a pin or choke on some thread!
