Frocktails 2024


19th October 2024 at 7pm!

Frocktails is the sewing community's night of nights!  Join us to meet up with fellow sewists and wear a garment/accessory that you have made yourself. 

Frocktails is a cocktail event where we get to meet old friends, make new friends and simply enjoy a night of talking about sewing and showing off your garment. Oh, and there will be delicious canapés, cocktails, prizes and goodie bag!

If you are planning your first Frocktails foray but are coming solo, please don't worry.  Lots of lovely and lasting friendships have been made at Frocktails!

Start planning your outfits!  You could use this occasion to challenge yourself and your skills.  Perhaps use fabric and pattern that is in your stash, or use a vintage pattern, or fabric that you've never sewn with before.  Or even make something that you've always wanted to but never had the excuse to!

What is new this year?

Watch out for new and exciting Frocktail-y things.

Am I welcome?

Short answer, YES!  Every single one of you is welcome to Frocktails. Our venue is fully accessible from the ground floor and we are all friendly, kind and inclusive!

How do I purchase a ticket? ps:  It's a new system so please bear with me!

Simply click on the checkout link and follow the checkout process.  Your completed checkout will look something like this:

Next step is to complete your registration by clicking the COMPLETE REGISTRATION button - here is where you can add your name for the ticket along with any dietary requirements, and your name tag info if you need one. 


You can then download your tickets from the confirmation page, and they will be emailed to you. 

You can download the tickets with the QR code to your Apple Wallet, print them or keep them in your email.  We'll be scanning your QR codes at the door.

If you have bought tickets for friends, or need to transfer your ticket, click on the TRANSFER button and add in the new recipients details. 

What does my ticket include?

Each ticket includes delicious canapés to fill up your tummy, an arrival cocktail/mocktail and a follow up drink.  PLUS the chance to win some great prizes, meet so many new friends and build your sewing community. 

Name Tags

Last year we introduced reusable name tags for every attendee.  If you still have yours from last year, please wear it again. 

If you are new this year, or can't find yours from last year, please add your name and Instagram handle name in the confirmation page and purchase your name tag here.  You'll have a sparkly new name tag waiting for you to use over and over again.

I have dietary requirements, where can I tell you about those?

This year we are catering to Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Nut free only.  If you have requirements outside of those, may I suggest that you have a light meal before coming along.  

You will be able to add your requirements to your ticket in the complete registration link in your booking confirmation email.  (see above).

You will have a coloured wristband waiting for you at the event with your name on it.  Wear it all night to have your food brought to you.

Can I go on the waitlist for when a ticket comes up?

Sorry, we won't be hosting a waitlist this year.  If you need to transfer your ticket, please tag us on an instagram post and we will re post to help you find a new owner. See below how to transfer the ticket to the new owner.

Can I refund my ticket?

We can help you transfer your ticket but refunds aren't possible.

Help, I need to transfer my ticket?

Here is how to do it:

In your confirmation email, you will see the Transfer button.

Click on that and simply enter the Name and email of the person you are transferring to.  They will receive an email with a link to complete registration, and then able to download their ticket. 

Do I have to wear something that I have made?

We highly encourage you to wear something you have made, whether it's part or all of your outfit, a bag, a hat or your jewellery.  There won't be a prize for best dressed, as seriously, who could choose!  It's a night to have fun not compete. 

Is the Venue accessible?

Social Dining is on the ground floor and is easily accessible for everyone.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes of course, the more the merrier.  You can purchase as many tickets as you need... but remember to add their names or they will miss out on the chance of a prize.

How many people will be there?

200 sewists will be coming along. Don't be afraid to come by yourself, we are all very friendly and the aim of the night is to meet other sewists!

Will there be a photographer?

Mr Usefulbox will be there again this year to take our fabulous photos. We will be uploading arrival photos to @sydneyfrocktails instagram all evening.  You are welcome to use these photos in your socials.  If you would like high res photos, I would be happy to provide them to you (please remember your pleases and thank you's when you ask).

What will the prizes be?

Keep an eye out on our Instagram page and look for the #sydneyfrocktails and #sydneyfrocktails2024 tag.

How are the prizes drawn?

Names are put into a very fancy bag, in random order.  On the night, I simply pull out the names.  I get that it's hard to not win a prize, I get very envious of the winners too. But please trust that your name is in there.  Accosting me after the prize draw to complain you didn't win a prize, isn't a good look, nor is dissing the goodie bag.
