Kids Drawing Embroidery

Need a fab Father's day gift this year?  Join Ali Dibley, embroidery guru, to learn how to embroider your kids artwork onto a garment!

Bring along a drawing your kid/s have done, a jumper or t-shirt and your readiness to learn!

You'll learn the how to trace your image onto embroidery backing paper, start your stitches and then stitch around your image.   And then how to finish, ready to gift.

Skill level: Beginner.  You may have done some hand stitching in the past but you don't need to have embroidery experience.

Note: Depending on your speed and the complexity of your art, you may not finish in its entirety.  Ali will give you tips on how to finish before you go home. 

What you will learn:

• Tracing your image onto embroidery backing paper
• How to thread your needle and make a knot
• How to stitch simple embroidery stitches around your image
• How to end your stitches 
• How to wash off the embroidery backing paper

What is included:

• Starter kit - embroidery backing paper, needle, hoop and thread
• 5 hours of expert tuition with only 3-6 students in the class
• A fun and engaging atmosphere
• Copious cups of tea and coffee.

What you need to bring

• Your glasses if you need them
• Your kids art - no bigger than 15cm square on a flat piece of white paper.  HINT: The simpler the drawing, the easier to stitch!
• A jumper or t-shirt to embroider onto

• Your lunch - there is a fridge and microwave available. Or trot up to a nearby cafe.
