One-Day Beginner Sewing Workshop — Start Sewing with Confidence!
Have you ever wanted to learn how to sew but didn’t know where to start? This friendly, hands-on workshop is designed especially for absolute beginners. Over one fun and focused day, you’ll learn how to use a sewing machine, understand basic sewing skills, and complete a simple, practical project to take home.
Bring your own machine (in the box!) or use one of ours!
Who this class is perfect for:

What you’ll learn:
- The essential parts of your sewing machine and how to thread it correctly
- Winding and inserting a bobbin with ease
- Basic stitches like straight stitch, backstitch, and zig zag stitching
- How to cut fabric accurately and follow simple sewing patterns
- Sewing clean seams, corners, and finishing edges
- Troubleshooting common beginner sewing problems
How the day works:
We take around 1.5 hours to get to know your machine—thread it, practice stitches, and build your confidence. Then, using your new skills, we’ll make a tote bag together. Skills learned include making seams, zig-zag edging, and topstitching.
Project:
Create your own stylish Tote Bag (or another simple project) — perfect for everyday use and practice!
What’s included:
- Use of a Brother A80 or Bernina 335 sewing machine (or bring your own)
- All materials needed for your project, including fabric and thread
- Printed instructions and tips to take home
- Tea and coffee throughout the day
- Small group size (3–6 students) for personalised support and a friendly vibe
What to bring:
- (Optional) Your clean sewing machine with foot pedal, power cord, and manual
- Fabric scissors and your sewing kit (if you don’t have one, you can buy a sewing kit here and have it waiting for you in the class)
- Lunch (fridge and microwave available)
