Seams & Hems

Have you done a little bit of sewing and want to finesse your seams and hems?

In this class, we are taking it back to basics and learning all the different ways to sew a seam and hem.  

You'll learn the best ways to sew nice even straight seam allowances,  Princess seams, Darts, Top stitching & Understitching.  PLUS how to finish those pesky raw edges with overcasting stitches, french seams and hong kong binding. Plus gathering and a pleat! 

Then we go to Hem - single fold, double fold and hand stitched! 

• You might like to bring something that you need hemmed so you can apply your new found knowledge!

You'll feel very fancy knowing all these clever tricks and will take your sewing to the next level!

Skill level: Beginner.  You must have a basic understanding of your machine and how to thread and run it.  If you have done the Beginner One day class or weekend with us, this class is the perfect next step.

What you need to bring

• Your clean machine along with all it's power cords and the foot pedal -- If you need to hire a machine, you can add this to your cart - please see here 
• The machines accessories, especially all the feet

• Your fabric scissors and sewing kit - if you don't have one, you can buy one here and have it waiting for you in the class. 

• You might like to bring something that you need hemmed so you can apply your new found knowledge!

• Your lunch - there is a fridge and microwave available.
